This textbook is fine...but not recommended for anyone who already possesses a good amount of knowledge on the subject. It is quite rudimentary and repeats itself A LOT!!!

This textbook is required for my 3rd year U.S Foreign Relations class and I have to say that it exceeded my expectations for a textbook. Though I wouldn't describe it as 'riveting' (textbooks generally aren't) it gives a great overview of the way that U.S government operates. It's simple enough that it could be used as pretty much entry level into the subject area, but also interesting and in-depth enough that even people with a background knowledge will pick up something they didn't know or understand the full implications of previously. The author does an awesome job at giving interesting and understandable examples and keeping the subject matter shockingly interesting.

Needed this for a graduate class. Book served its purpose. Was an OK read.

    good quality

There ARE some editorial errors, and other foibles, but 99.9% of the content is academically sound. More importantly, the author has some great perspectives on the history of US foreign policy.

    No issues whatsoever!

This book is a horrible book to use for classes. It is very opinionated and leaves the reader no room to make their own decisions. The title should be "Bashing Bush"

I needed a good primer on foreign policy for the Foreign Service Officer Test; this book was excellent. It reinforced salient points that you need to know to do well on the test. Great resource!
