Very good book. I use this book to build my 2nd graders reading skills. It us a challenge for him but it helps i work with him while completing these short stories.

We are very pleased with the book. The stories are informative, and the questions are challenging. I like how it covers different types of questions. My nine year old got to practice summarizing stories with her own words, completing the stories...

This workbook is perfect for helping my granddaughter who "lost" a year in the third grade by living in a state that is far behind ours. She is back now and the workbook is helping her parents know what to do and how to do it to help her catch up to her current 4th grade level. I plan to look for a similar book to help her catch up in math! A super investment in my granddaughter's academic future!! I cannot praise it highly enough!!

My kids love it, and do it every day to catch up their English learning. The book is reproducible. I had 2 kids learning at same time, so I made a copy and they love to compete who answered the most correctly. The passags contained many useful knowledge, I like this very much. It is like we learn new things everyday together, and only cost half an hour.

First reading workbook tried was a lot of made up stories and also included questions about phonics, vocab, etc. often outside of story content. The stories in this are mostly non fiction and easy to follow. The print is clear and easy to read and exercises are reading comp only. These use charts, questions, venn diagrams, etc.
