This is one of the best introductions to Kant that I have read. Kant's philosophy is difficult but it is important to learn and understand him, not only for his groundbreaking philosophy, but to see how he influenced philosophy since he issued forth his writings. I finally get the idea that we don't know reality as it is but as how our mental systems present it to us, particularly via space and time, which are built into our minds, and the concepts, such as cause and effect, that structure what we perceive. I am still struggling with how Kant's epistemology translates to his ethics, and specifically to his belief in God, but I am getting there. Robert Wicks has written a number of other books on philosophy. Based on this work, I am looking forward to getting my hands on more. Wicks takes the intimidating factor out of understanding Kant, by presenting Kant's difficult concepts in as clear a light as possible. In addition, each chapter ends with a series of study questions that help the reader review what he or she has read and how much they understand. The chapters also end with a list of further reading material for that chapter's content. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to get a beginning understanding of one of history's most important philosophers.

Great quick way to learn about this great philosopher and those ideas that drove him. Very easy to read and yet extremely informative. Want to know more about this very famous philosopher, this is the book to get started.

This is not only the best introduction of Kant but also one of the best books I've ever read. Normally, I would prefer the original text of a philsopher, but it was almost impossible with Immanuel Kant. The author makes you grasp many hard thoughts if not almost spoon-feed you.
