    Book details

Millions plan their summer vacations at sunny beach destinations. However, coastal living is a different matter. I have always dreamed of what beach life would be like for a permanent resident. Approaching the big 50, I decided it was now or never.I started researching beaches. I thought anything is possible. So I started looking at coastal towns primarily in the United States. It was so exciting. I was looking at my computer screen making sounds as if I was eating a box of chocolates. The ooh...awe, oh my, this is my favorite, oh isn't this beautiful became common sounds.I found there are many reasons for people moving to the coast. It isn't always just to swim in the waters, walk on the beach, snorkel and listen to the waves crash along the shore. I knew that I had enjoyed many of these activities when I visited the beach, but I never realized that these and other different coastal activities were some of the primary reasons others wanted to relocate to a beach town. There are 7 main reasons people love about living at the beach. They are as follows:(1) Beachcombers - Includes those laid back people that just want to walk along the beach and pick up the sea shells.(2) Water Lovers - Kayakers, kiteboarders, snorkelers, scuba divers - active water enthusiasts.(3) Boating Group - Like to ride the ocean waves by sail, paddle, or motor.(4) Fishing Enthusiasts - People that love to fish the seas and shorelines.(5) Nature Lovers - Folks that enjoy seaside birds, animals and critters that emerge from the sand.(6) Lovers of Culture - Sophisticates that enjoy the arts with an ocean view.(7) Golfing Addicts - Golfers that crave the ultimate golfing experience of Scottish style links against a backdrop of vast blue water.

This book has absolutely NOTHING to do with it's title. With such stellar reviews, one must wonder if the reviews are fake. I suspect as much considering several reviews use the same phrases and wording. This book has no more information in it than you could find with a good internet search. Luckily this was a free book.

I'm not sure what I really expected to find out reading this book, but this book didn't really answer my questions about why people move to the beach.

This book is a bargain for anyone who loves the beach. It is really well written and not only explains about the different beach areas across the US that one could live, but it divides it up by what you are interested in, for instance; Savannah Georgia is for cultural enthusiasts, which makes sense because the old southern culture is what I think of when I think of Savannah; and Bodega Bay, California is for fishing enthusiasts, which is true because you won't be swimming in the cold Pacific Ocean of Bodega Bay.Reading this book not only makes me want to visit each of these beach areas, but it is also like a mini vacation, with pictures and all. A great read that is really well written and makes you yearn for your very own beach living experience. 5 stars all the way.

I must say I was intrigued when I found this book. I have great memories of beach vacations as a child in Africa. I also lived in Florida on and off throughout my college years. Almost every Saturday was spent at a Florida beach. So I'd have to say that my two favorite beaches are Florida beaches and African beaches. This book is filled with pictures of tantalizing places to live. Anna Seeger is a very creative writer who makes living at the beach seem a dream. She seems to be a dreamer who made her dream a reality or she is still dreaming by writing this book. I imagine that is her in the cover picture perhaps at Fort Walton beach. Well if you are interested in moving to a beach community you may be interested in kayaking, surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling, bird watching, boating, visiting art museums, going to film festivals, going to the theatre, visiting quaint bookstores, fishing, golfing or eating out at unique restaurants. There is something for everyone. If you are lucky enough to have the option of moving this guide will help you find the perfect location.~The Rebecca Review, dreamer

I really like the beach when I am there, but have never been brave enough to pack up and move to a beach location.I really enjoyed the book, there is a beach listed for everyone and even if (like me) you can't afford to move to one of them it sure is fun looking and reading about them.I also liked the introduction, I could feel the love affair the writer has with the beach and that flows through every page of the book.

This book not only is well written and entertaining to read, it is also packed with information. If you have ever dreamed of moving to the beach, this book is a must read. Once you've identified what it is in beach living that appeals to you, this book will help you narrow down the possible locations that will suit your personality. Having traveled to many of the beaches highlighted, I can say that the author definitely knows her stuff! I highly recommend.

This book details various beaches in the United States and Canada. It describes the surrounding communities, available activities and the average price of a home. It is a great starting point if you are considering moving or retiring to a beach community. There are seven different sections sorted by the reason you'd like to move to the beach. Short and sweet, a good resource for contemplating that move to the beach.
